Deep Creek Landing Marina is the only marina in Newport News offering kayak rentals and paddle board rentals to the public. Spend a few hours or the entire day paddling through the serene waters of Deep Creek or exploring the majestic James River. Before launching, we provide life jackets and detailed instructions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. For those looking to take their adventure further, we offer exciting options like a 3-Month Unlimited Kayak Launch Pass and convenient kayak and paddle board storage.
Rates:
- Single Kayak: $15/hour, $45/half-day (4 hours)
- Double Kayak: $18/hour, $54/half-day (4 hours)
- Paddle Board: $20/hour, $60/half-day (4 hours)
Single kayaks and paddle boards are rated for 300 lbs, double kayaks are rated for 595 lbs.

April 11 – May 21, 2026:**
Monday – Sunday: 9:30am – 4:30pm (all kayak must be back on the dock by 4:30pm)
May 21 – September 7, 2026:**
Sunday – Thursday: 9:30am – 4:30pm (all kayak must be back on the dock by 4:30pm)
Friday – Saturday: 9:30am – 5:30pm (all kayak must be back on the dock by 5:30pm)
September 8 – October 31, 2026:**
Monday – Saturday: 9:30am – 3:30pm (all kayak must be back on the dock by 3:30pm)
Sunday: 10:30am – 2:30pm (all kayak must be back on the dock by 4:30pm)

How to Reserve:
Reserve your rental today by calling (757) 877-9555 or emailing dcl@deepcreeklanding.com. Please arrive 15 minutes before your reservation to complete the necessary paperwork. Payment is required at the time of booking.
Age Requirements:
- You must be 18 or older to rent a kayak.
- Children aged 9+ can use single kayaks or paddle boards.
- Children aged 5+ can join a double kayak with a parent.
Cancellation Policy:
We may cancel or reschedule due to weather, staff, or technical issues. If Deep Creek Landing cancels, you’ll receive a full refund.
- Refund Policy:
- Cancellations made at least 48 hours in advance are eligible for a refund minus a 10% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance or no-shows are not eligible for a refund.

Please note you cannot switch drivers or passengers off the dock.
What to Bring/Wear:
- Bathing suit: You might get wet!
- Sunscreen: Protect yourself from the sun.
- Water bottle: Stay hydrated.
- Sunglasses: Opt for a cheap or floatable pair.
- Towel: For after your paddle adventure.
- Avoid bringing anything you don’t want to get wet, sandy, or damaged. Place any valuables in your car as we cannot hold onto them for you.
